So, you’re probably wondering, "What is EDDS Vault?" "What can it really do for me?"
The "EDDS" in EDDS Vault stands for Electronic Document and Digital Storage. EDDS Vault is a complete document and content management solution. It allows you to scan documents and manage digital content in a secure online document repository. EDDS Vault gives you the ability to share your documents, collaborate with your associates and trusted third parties, provide disaster protection (business continuity), and manage regulatory compliance.
Experience has shown us that cost and complexity typically prevent emerging and midmarket companies from implementing an electronic content management solution. EDDS Vault has been designed to eliminate both issues. more>>
After registering to become an EDDS Vault user, you are provided a workspace. A workspace is the environment in which you manage your content. You can create multiple workspaces to control access to your documents and digital assets. Your workspace includes a Dashboard, a My Files tab, a Search tab, and a workspace Manage link.
Your dashboard comes with several "widgets." Widgets are tools that provide quick access to information and downloads associated with your workspace. more>>
The My Files tab is where you will unlock the power of EDDS Vault. On the left side of the tab, you will see a tree view of your file cabinets. Your tree includes a My Received Files cabinet, where files you have scanned, uploaded, or shared reside until you transfer them to a storage location in your tree. To build your tree of cabinets and folders, simply click the Add New Cabinet or Add New Folder icon to store and manage your documents and other digital assets. more>>
Searches for your documents and content can be performed directly from the EDDS Vault navigation bar or the Search tab. You can search within a specific folder, a file cabinet, or your entire workspace. more>>
The Manage link will allow you to add more users, create additional workspaces, and share documents with your trusted associates. When you create additional user accounts you determine what rights they will have and what workspaces they have access to. You can assign View, Add, Delete, and Modify privileges to workspaces, cabinets, folders, and files. more>>
Your EDDS Vault subscription includes a complete document scanning application. From the software widget on your Dashboard, simply click the EDDS Vault Scanning Software icon and the software will be downloaded to your desktop. An easy-to-follow wizard steps you through the process. You can now set up scanning projects to upload your scanned paper documents and associate index values for faster search retrieval. Regardless of whether you download the EDDS Vault scanning software, your EDDS Vault workspace will enable you to directly upload and index electronic documents and image files created with other scanning applications.
